Gammon
Gammon is cut from the hind leg of the pig, the same part used for traditional hams, and is prized for its rich, savoury flavour. Our gammon joints are perfect for roasting or boiling, served hot with seasonal trimmings or cold in sandwiches the next day. For a quicker option, our unsmoked horseshoe gammon steaks are thick-cut and versatile — delicious pan-fried or grilled, paired with chips and a fried egg, glazed with honey and mustard, or even served with pineapple for a pub classic. However you choose to cook it, gammon is a cut that’s both hearty and full of tradition.
Our small herd of traditionally bred pigs include Gloucester Old Spots, Oxford Sandy & Black, Saddlebacks and Large Blacks. They lead an active outdoor life, benefiting from the freedom to graze, forage, root and wallow amongst the trees.
A true festive favourite, gammon is cut from the hind leg of the pig and is loved for its savoury flavour and versatility. Our gammon joints make a perfect centrepiece for Christmas or New Year, delicious slow-roasted or gently simmered, then finished with a honey and mustard glaze for a glossy, golden finish. For something quicker but just as satisfying, our unsmoked horseshoe gammon steaks are thick-cut and full of flavour — easy to pan-fry or grill and perfect for holiday mealtimes. Whether served hot with seasonal vegetables or cold with chutneys and cheese, gammon brings warmth and tradition to the table.
