Locally reared Beef, Lamb & Pork from Eastwood Farm, Shenington, Banbury
Our 100 head, beef suckler herd is predominately Hereford, with over a quarter being pedigree.
The pedigree herd grows in numbers every year, and we enjoy showing them at local agricultural shows – hopefully coming home with some rosettes.
The majority of the cattle are sold at 9 / 12 months, we keep some and finish them, these either join the herd or are sold as boxed beef.
Hereford cattle are not only kind-natured and easy to work with, they are naturally good at converting grass into meat, which is packed full of flavour and goodness.
At Eastwood Farm we run a flock of 250 / 300 breeding ewes.
We lamb them in April / May, and this is very much a family affair with everyone getting involved.
We run all the lambs on to finish them on grass, which allows us to provide high-quality lamb, full of flavour.
Our small herd of traditional bred pigs include Gloucester Old Spots, Oxford Sandy and Black, Saddle Backs and Large Blacks. We find these are easy to work with and produce great tasting pork.
We allow the pigs and their young to range and root outside in the fields and trees around the farm.
Our animals live happy and healthy lives. They are mostly free to range and root on the farm.
We try to do our best for the environment. Through our free-range egg production, we have planted over 3000 native broad-leaf trees to encourage our birds to range. This in turn has encouraged a lot more wildlife. We have solar panels and use the electricity to power the farm and feed back into the national grid.
We offer other services, such as digger hire with crusher bucket, roller and horse livery.

We provide customers with great tasting locally produced meat. We ensure our animals are cared for from the moment they are born, to the moment they leave.
We aim to keep food miles to a minimum so we use a local abattoir and butcher where the meat can be cut to your requirements.
